RosikBall (rosikball.com) is a free browser football game. This page explains what we store about you, why, and how to remove it. Contact: support@rosikball.com.
Playing as a guest
You can play without an account. Your browser then keeps your guest name, avatar, game settings and a random browser id (used only so a room host's ban applies when you rejoin) in its own local storage. These stay on your device; clearing the site data removes them.
Accounts
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your nickname | Shown to other players; kept unique so nobody can pretend to be you. After a change your previous nickname stays reserved for you for 30 days. |
| Email address and a password hash (email login only) | To log you in, confirm the address and reset the password. The password itself is never stored, only a salted, slow hash of it. |
| Your Google account id (Google login only) | To recognise you when you log in with Google. We ask Google for your email address only to sign you in; we do not store it. |
| Your Discord user id (Discord login only) | To recognise you when you log in with Discord. We do not store your Discord username, email or avatar. |
| Login sessions | A cookie (rb_session) keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. A short-lived cookie (rb_oauth, 10 minutes) protects a Google or Discord login in progress. These are our only cookies; advertising cookies come from Google (see Advertising below). |
We only send emails about your account (confirming your address, resetting your password), never newsletters or ads.
Rooms and the network
- Our lobby server introduces players to each other. It sees your IP address while you are connected, and keeps it for up to 12 hours per room so a host can ban a player from that room and so the service can be protected from abuse.
- The game itself runs directly between the players' browsers (WebRTC). As with any direct connection, the other players in your room can technically see your IP address. When a direct connection is not possible, the game traffic goes through a relay with a temporary login that is cancelled when you leave.
- A public room shows its name, the number of players, the host's country flag and, when the host is logged in, the host's nickname.
- In a room, a flag next to each player's name shows the country our network provider (Cloudflare) estimates from the player's connection. It is worked out when you connect, shown only to the players in that room (and, for the host, in the room list), and not stored.
Advertising
RosikBall is free to play. To pay for it, one advertisement is shown in a column beside the game (never over the field). It is served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads and measure them and, only if you agree, to personalise them. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent first; you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the room list. How Google uses data from sites that show its ads: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Who processes the data
RosikBall runs on Cloudflare (hosting, database, email sending and the game relay). Google serves the advertisement (Google AdSense, see above). Google and Discord are also involved if you choose to log in with them; their own privacy policies apply to your accounts there. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Sign-ups never confirmed: deleted after 24 hours.
- Sessions: 30 days after your last visit; confirmation links 24 hours; reset links 1 hour.
- Failed-login counters and rate limits: minutes. Room bans by address: up to 12 hours.
Your choices and rights
You can change your nickname, add or remove login methods and delete your account at any time from the account panel in the game (Log in / your nickname → Delete account); deletion removes your nickname, email, password hash, linked logins and sessions at once. For a copy of your data, a correction, or any other request (including those under the EU General Data Protection Regulation), write to support@rosikball.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
If you are younger than the age at which your country lets you consent to online services yourself (14 in Italy; between 13 and 16 elsewhere in the EU), ask a parent before creating an account. You can always play as a guest.
